Eric Balchunas is Senior ETF Analyst for Bloomberg
Intelligence where he writes for and leads the fund research team. He also
helped create and appears on the first-ever ETF TV show called “Bloomberg
ETF IQ” as well as a podcast called “Trillions.” He is also a
Bloomberg Opinion contributor and author of “The Institutional ETF
Toolbox,” which was published by Wiley in March 2016. Eric holds a
bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Environmental Economics from Rutgers

Ivan Gilmore

Ivan has over 20 years’ experience in financial markets, including 7 years at Goldman Sachs as an Equity Trader and 8 years at DE Shaw LLP (London), where he was European Head of Trading for the US multi-strategy hedge fund.

Christopher Johnson

Christopher Johnson is a Vice President and Head of ETF
Capital Markets and Equity Trading supporting CSIM. In this role, he is
responsible for overseeing the Equity Trading Team as well as the
implementation of all ETF capital market functions for CSIM, including managing
relationships with authorized participants, market makers, stock exchanges and
regulators.
Mr. Johnson has been in the financial services industry
since 1998, with experience in ETF trading, sales, and product management.
Before joining CSIM in 2017, he was director and the head of U.S. ETF distribution
at RBC Capital Markets, LLC. Prior to that, he served as vice president and
head of ETF sales for the Americas at Macquarie Capital (USA), Inc. He also
served as the director of ETF sales and trading at Cantor Fitzgerald and senior
manager in international ETF product management at The Vanguard Group.
Mr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Asian
studies-Japanese from Colgate University and a Graduate Business Certificate in

Mark Louka

Mark Louka, Executive Director, is a trader in J.P. Morgan

Trading effort. A JPM employee since 2014, Mark is also an adjunct professor at

Dwayne Middleton

Dwayne Middleton is the global head of fixed
income trading. Dwayne leads the trading team across foreign exchange, interest

Inc., and T. Rowe Price Group, Inc.
Dwayne’s investment experience began in 1994,

Ben Sturgeon

Ben Sturgeon is a director at

Before joining Tradeweb in 2015,
Ben was director of equity derivatives at Citigroup, in charge of the sales

Tom Taw

Tom Taw, Director, is the Head of Investment Strategy and
Product Consulting for the APAC ETF business. He is primarily responsible for
formulating and disseminating actionable market insights to EII APAC clients
across asset classes using iShares ETFs, in conjunction with Blackrock’s Global
Investment Institute. The Capital Markets team also works with a variety of market
participants to facilitate client execution services and solutions as well as
providing specialist knowledge to develop customized trading strategies to
deliver those market insights and implement BLK’s investment strategies.
Prior to joining Blackrock in 2014, Mr. Taw worked in roles
at Macquarie and Nomura in equity sales, trading and execution, covering
clients across the hedge fund, asset management, and institutional client
landscape; responsible for trading pan-Asian equities.

Joseph M. Terranova is a Senior Managing Director for Virtus Investment Partners, an asset management firm with $166 billion under management and listed on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol VRTS.
In his current role, Terranova is involved with Virtus’ investment oversight function and represents Virtus as a client-facing thought leader, providing insight into the domestic and global multi-asset investment landscape.
Terranova developed the Terranova US Quality Momentum Index (VTUSQM) which launched and began publicly pricing in August 2020. The index methodology, seeking to provide systematic exposure to domestic large-cap companies exhibiting both quality and momentum characteristics, reflects the investing principles in which Terranova has utilized to assess markets throughout his career.
Prior to joining Virtus Investment Partners in early 2008, Terranova spent 18 years at MBF Clearing Corp., rising to the position of Director of Trading for the company and its subsidiaries. His work was highlighted as the feature story in the June 2004 issue of Futures magazine.
Terranova is perhaps best known for his risk management skills, honed while overseeing MBF’s proprietary trading operations during some of the most calamitous times for the U.S. markets, including the first Gulf War, the 1998 Asian Crisis, 9/11, and the collapse of Amaranth Advisors. During those times there was never a loss at MBF due to market anomalies. In fact, the firm continued to trade profitably and grow its business.
With a strong commitment to charitable work, Terranova created the 501(c)(3) South Nassau Rock organization. He also established “Bossy’s Bunch,” a program that rewards excellence in the classroom for elementary students. Ellyn Coyne is responsible for sales and business

Ellyn joined KCG in January 2014 as a member of the ETF
Sales Team. Responsibilities include new client development, client retention,

Prior to joining KCG, Ellyn worked at the NASDAQ, where she

Brian Gilman

Brian Gilman has 14 years of financial services experience
and 10 years in ETFs. After earning his J.D. from Boston University and passing
the NY State Bar Exam, Brian practiced labor law before transitioning to a
career in financial services and joining the fixed-income desk at SIG. Brian’s
entry into the ETF space began with a trading role at Labranche Structured
Products in 2009. Over the past 10 years, Brian has served both proprietary and

Jessica Morrison

In June 2020, Jessica joined global financial technology
firm, Virtu Financial APAC, currently under transition following the 2019
acquisition of ITG. Virtu uses advanced
technology and transparency to deliver liquidity to the global capital markets
and help clients pursue best execution in a scalable, efficient and data-driven
manner.
Jessica offers an extensive background in APAC market
structure, having moved to Hong Kong in 2011. She is an active participant in
several industry initiatives around the development of the A Share Market
Structure in China through Hong Kong Stock Connect, IOI and FIX protocols, and
Electronic Trading guidelines. While running Virtu’s APAC Execution Services
team on a day-to-day basis, Jessica continues to track developments and publish
market structure content with regards to both macro market
structure—regulation, technology and explicit costs—and their impact on the
micro structure—liquidity indicators such as volume, volatility and implicit
costs in the region.
Prior to Virtu, Jessica held the position of Head of
Execution Services Sales for Asia at the Institutional Equities Division of
Morgan Stanley from 2020-2017, having originally worked in their London
Compliance team from 2009-2006. Between those dates, Jessica worked for
Deutsche Bank initially in an Equities Compliance role before transitioning to
and establishing the APAC Market Structure and Commission Management team in

Tara Muller
Head of Off Exchange Liquidity, Virtu Financial
Tara Muller is responsible for
Virtu’s off-exchange liquidity offerings, including the firm’s Single Dealer
Platforms – VEQ Link (formerly Acknowledge Equities and Knight Link) and VEQ.
She served in a similar capacity at KCG Holdings before Virtu acquired the firm
in July 2017. Tara’s responsibilities include new business strategy, product
development and account management. Tara serves on the firm’s Management
Committee, Best Execution Committee and Retail Order Routing Committee.
Additionally, Tara is part of Virtu’s inaugural Diversity and Inclusion
Program, heading up our External Mentor Committee.
Tara joined Knight Capital in
2006 to build the Knight Link business and was a Managing Director in Knight’s
Electronic Trading Group. Over the last 14 years, Virtu has become one of the

an essential source of liquidity for the street’s smart order routers and ATSs.

Sean O’Meara

Based in New York City, Sean O’Meara shares his expertise on the
Global ETF Sales and Trading team and oversees best execution consultation of
ETF trading for institutional buy and sell side clients. Sean joined ITG four
years ago, prior to the firm’s acquisition by Virtu Financial in 2019. Before
that, Sean was the Executive Director of US ETF Sales and Trading at JP Morgan
for almost 10 years, and an associate at Morgan Stanley where he
started his career in sales and trading out of college.
Sean holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the Leeds School of

Jason Perle

Based in New Jersey, Jason Perle sits on the US Algorithmic

Jason’s day to day responsibilities include client research

John Shay
Senior Advisor to the CEO, Virtu Financial
Since 2007, Shay has been part of the Virtu family of
businesses. He along with Virtu Founder Vin Viola, created the market’s first
OTC Interest Rate Clearing DCO called IDCG. That business was sold to LCH in 2012
and included NDAQ as its majority shareholder.
From 2012 to 2016 Shay served as Senior Vice President for
Global Markets at Virtu Financial, where he was responsible for managing
outside venue, vendor and trading relationships, focused on fixed income,
commodities, and currencies. He
currently advises the CEO on all matters FICC related.
He was formerly a member of the Treasury Borrowing Advisory
Committee (TBAC 2014 – 2016), TMPG, FXPA and a Main Board member of LCH group.
In 2016, John Shay joined Nasdaq as Senior Vice President
and Global Head of Fixed Income and Commodities . In this role, Shay was
responsible for leading the global commodities and fixed-income areas within
Nasdaq’s Global Trading and Market Services business. This included U.S. Treasuries,
global commodities, and in the Nordic and Baltic markets, he was responsible
for fixed income, clearing, and broker services activities.
Shay also founded and served as Managing Partner at Capital
Market Services Inc., a wholly-owned clearing and execution services business
designed to improve market access for algorithmic strategy hedge funds in the
over-the-counter and exchange traded space.
In 1982 Shay began his 25 year career at ICAP, where he
served as Executive Vice President and Global Head of Sales for ICAP Electronic
Broking (IEB) for Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange from 2003 to 2007. Prior to
2003, he helped develop strategic partnerships in China, Hong Kong, Japan,
South America and the European Union, and was instrumental in growing the
company’s market share in U.S. Treasuries, Mortgage Backed Products, and Repo.

Erin Stanton

Erin is also the co-head of Virtu’s Diversity and Inclusion
Committee where she is personally dedicated to expanding women’s roles within
technology and data science.
Erin received her undergraduate degree in Computer Science
and Economics from Lehigh University and is expected to graduate with a Masters
in Information and Data Science from UC Berkeley in May 2021.
Denys Teslenko
Head of ETFs, APAC, Virtu Financial
Denys Teslenko is responsible for Virtu’s ETF business in APAC, charged with building out S&T desk specializing in risk, market making, and agency execution for Japan, Honk Kong, and US listed ETFs. Denys started his career at Knight Capital(KCG) in 2012before acquisition by Virtu Financial 2017, focusing on US Equity block market making and portfolio trading.

Patrick Thomson
Global Fixed Income ETF Trading, Virtu Financial
Patrick K. Thomson works on Virtu’s expansive ETF desk and
focuses on Fixed Income ETF’s and bonds.
Patrick’s responsibilities include block market making and transition
trades in ETF’s, working with issuers on developing new and managing existing
ETFs, while trading an ETF’s for a firm that see’s 20% of retail ETF volume in
the United States. Over the last 7 years, Patrick and Rich Mauro have built a
Fixed Income ETP franchise, providing transparent trading solutions for clients
with an emphasis on total cost of execution.
Patrick is now in Europe helping expand the businesses there.
Known for its global scale, competitive liquidity, and

relationship. Over the past decade,

Patrick started his career in ETP’s at their “birthplace”
on American Stock Exchange in 2000. Over the next 11 years at Goldman Sachs,
Patrick participated in the rapid expansion of ETP’s as a trader on both the
AMEX and NYSE. During that time, his initial focus on domestic and
international equities shifted to the fixed income and commodity space as his
role evolved from low-latency, principal trading to client facilitation.
RJ Weiss is a product specialist on the Workflow Technology team at Virtu Financial. He joined ITG in 2015 prior to the firm’s acquisition by Virtu in 2017. Previously, he spent several years at Eze Castle Software. RJ earned his degree in Geography & Geographical Information Systems from Middlebury College.
Ian Williams
CEO and Head of Execution Services Canada, Virtu Financial
Ian Williams is the CEO and Head of Execution Services in Canada at Virtu Financial which he joined 13 years ago. Previously, he was president of Perimeter Markets Inc., which operated institutional and retail alternative marketplaces that provided electronic equity and fixed income trading services in Canada. Earlier, he worked in portfolio management, trading and risk management at TD Asset Management, Toronto-Dominion Bank and TD Securities. He holds a B.A. in economics from York University, Toronto, and is a chartered financial analyst.
